PRIMAR Extends Asian Coverage
The Norwegian Hydrographic Service (NHS) has signed an agreement that allows PRIMAR RENC to distribute ENCs produced by the Chinese Navigation Guarantee Department (NGD). The ENCs were released in the PRIMAR ENC service on 30 April 2015.
In order to enhance safety at sea and protect the maritime environment, PRIMAR's vision is to be the most efficient model for the provision of ENC services and maritime geospatial data worldwide.
Norwegian Hydrographic Service operates the PRIMAR ENC service through a regional ENC (RENC) coordinator regime supported by bilateral and distribution agreements with the nations producing ENCs, and other ENC provider organisations.
PRIMAR ENC service is offered through an international network of authorised distributors and kept regularly updated by the means of the PRIMAR Chart Catalogue and the PRIMAR Online remote update services.
PRIMAR ENCs are official electronic charts that meet the IMO SOLAS requirements for paperless navigation when used in conjunction with type approved ECDIS.
